About Me

Dr. Ondřej Pavelek is an assistant professor at Mendel University in Brno, Faculty of Business and Economics, Department of Law and Humanity Sciences. In 2014, he graduated from the Faculty of Social Studies, European Studies, and in 2015 graduated from the Faculty of Law, Law and Legal Science, at Masaryk University in Brno. In 2020, he completed his Ph.D. studies in civil law. During his studies, he took an internship in the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament and at the Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic to the United Nations in New York, USA. As part of his doctoral studies, he completed an internship at the law faculties in Vienna (Austria) and Bremen (Germany). After graduation, he worked for the Supreme Court of Justice of the Czech Republic. He is the author of the monograph Náhrada nemajetkové újmy na zdraví a při usmrcení [Compensation for non-material damage on health and death] published by C.H. Beck. He is involved in a number of international projects, e.g. COST Action CA21107 “Work inequalities in later life redefined by digitalisation” (DIGI-net) or in project CA22128 “Networking for the implementation of the principles of effective interviewing” (IMPLEMENDEZ). Ondřej is a dedicated trainer and instructor, leading the course Adaptability and Teamwork for the Workplace.
